Little White Helpers is a dark comedy written to change the conversation when it comes to mental health. At the moment, we’re talking too much about the medical application of drugs and treatments, and while this is important, behind every diagnosis is a person who is having an experience entirely unique to them. Medical diagnosis is clumsy and misguided. With not enough known about the brain, we’ve chosen to make assumptions based on good intention, combined with bad science focused too much on unproven hypothesis. The answer is the individualism of mental illness as a whole, and depression and anxiety specifically, and a more holistic approach to treatment. Also drugs.
